At the 2019 SARNZ (Scaffolding, Access & Rigging NZ Inc) conference, Scafit was honoured to receive the Skills Training Company of the Year Award. The award is presented to a company which shows ongoing commitment to supporting the future of the scaffolding industry through industry training, and a commitment to excellence in training delivery standards across the board.

Scafit has a unique and industry-leading approach to training, led by company owner David Crowley and our full-time company trainer Doug Pokiha. Apprenticeship and mandatory safety training is important, but makes up less than 10% of our total training program under the 70:20:10 model of learning & development. A comprehensive range of formal and on-the-job hard skills training is complemented with soft skills development and a comprehensive wellbeing policy providing support for our team’s physical, mental and financial health.

“We were very proud to receive this award, and for the industry to recognise the benefits of a social and holistic approach to overall training beyond hard skills” says David, “we believe this approach is bringing immeasurable benefits to our team, their families and communities, and therefore also our clients and our company”.
